Once the API Web Services and Offline Audit Server have been configured, you are ready to connect to the Q-Pulse App.
This article outlines the steps required to connect the app to Q-Pulse. Before going through this process, please ensure you have followed the previous steps in the Quick Start Step-up Guide.
Once the API Web Services and Offline Audit Server have been configured you are ready to connect the Q-Pulse app. This involves:
1. Downloading the Q-Pulse app
To download the Q-Pulse app, launch the Apple app store on your iPad or the Play store on your Android device, search for "Q-Pulse", and then tap [Install].
Follow the on-screen instructions.
Note that in Apple App Store, you will also find older versions of Q-Pulse app (Reporting, Document and Audit app), please ensure that you download the latest Q-Pulse app, which is named "Q-Pulse".
2. Connecting the Q-Pulse app
In order to configure the Q-Pulse app, you will need to specify your server endpoint URL in the app settings. These fields are available for users who need to use a local IP/server name for use while the device is connected to the company network and an external IP address/server name when they are not. Please note that you are asked for your Server URL and Audit Server URL. The Server URL relates to your API Web Services endpoint and the Audit Server URL would be your Offline Audit Server endpoint. If only one of these links are entered, the feature will work independently from the other. For example, say you do not want to configure the Offline Audit Server, the Reporting features will still work if the Server URL has been populated.

To configure your Server URL:
- Open the Q-Pulse App
- On the login screen, tap the settings icon
- Enter the Server URL into the field provided
The Server URL will be:
http://<serverIPaddress>/QPulse5WebServices/services
If you have have configured the Q-Pulse API Web Services to operate on its own port, you will also need to specify the port number. For Example:
http://<serverIPaddress>:<port>/QPulse5WebServices/services
To confirm the url:
- Launch Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.
- Navigate to [Administrative Tools] and then to [Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager].
- Navigate to the QPulse5WebServices application and expand the folder.
- Right Click on the 'Services' folder.

- In the "Actions" pane on the right hand side of the IIS Manager window, select the "Browse" option

- This will open your browser to the address of the Q-Pulse Web Services. This URL should be the same as the one entered into the application.
Once the Server URL field has been populated you should now by able to use the Reporting features on the Q-Pulse app.
To configure your Audit Server URL:
- Open the Q-Pulse App
- On the login screen, tap the settings icon
- Enter the Audit Server URL into the field provided
The Audit Server URL will be:
http://<serverIPaddress>/QPulse5OfflineAuditServer
If you have have configured the Offline Audit Server to operate on its own port, you will also need to specify the port number. For Example:
http://<serverIPaddress>:<port>/QPulse5OfflineAuditServer
To confirm the Audit Server URL:
- Launch Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.
- Navigate to [Administrative Tools] and then to [Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager].
- Navigate to the QPulse5OfflineAuditServer application and click one the folder

- In the "Actions" pane on the right hand side of the IIS Manager window, select the "Browse" option

- This will open your browser to the address of the Q-Pulse Offline Audit Server. You can then confirm the path is similar to the addresses listed above.
Once the endpoints have been populated you can proceed to login to the app and check on the 3 modules.
