Asset Manager group membership is needed.
The Asset Module of Q-Pulse Cloud allows you to list all assets your company currently has. You are also able to categorise any assets your company may use using asset types. This article will guide you through how to manage Asset Types on Q-Pulse Cloud.

1. How to Create an Asset Type
To create an asset type, you will need to:
- Navigate to Home, then Assets and then Associated Lists.
- You will be taken to the Associated lists page as per the image below:
- This will currently show all Asset Types you currently have.
- To add a new Asset Type you will need to select Add child, a text box will then appear at the bottom of the list.
- You will then be able to enter your text for the new Asset Type. Once you are ready to confirm the new type, hit Enter key on your keyboard and your new Type will be added to the list.
2. How to Change the Parent of an Asset Type
To change the parent of an asset type you will need to:
- Click on the asset type you wish to amend.
- A details box will appear on the right hand side of the page.
- There will be an option to select a Parent from a drop down menu.
- Click on any of the options will automatically update the Parent of this Asset Type.
3. How to Add a Child to an Asset Type
To add a child to an Asset type you will need to:
- Hover over the Asset you wish to have a child for and will be given the icons as per the below image:
- You can then select Add child, a text box will then appear under the selected Asset.
- You will then be able to enter your text for the new asset type child. Once you are ready to confirm the new child, hit Enter key on your keyboard and the child for your select asset type, will be added to the list.
4. How to Edit an Asset Type
To edit an existing asset type you will need to:
- Navigate to Home, then Assets and then Associated Lists.
- Select the asset type you wish to amend
- A details box will appear on the right hand side of the page.
- From this section you can amend the asset title by clicking on Name.
- To confirm any changes made, click Save.
- From the details section, if required, you are also able to Delete and Archive asset types, by selecting wither of the items as shown in the image below:
It is also important to note that deleting or archiving any asset types will delete or archive any children associated to this type.
5. How to Archive an Asset Type
To archive an existing asset type you will need to:
- Navigate to Home, then Assets and then Associated Lists.
- Hover over the asset that you wish to archive and there will be three icons that appear as per the image below:
- Clicking on this icon, an archive confirmation modal will appear as per the image below:
- Click OK and the asset type will be archived as requested.
It is also important to note that archiving an asset type will also archive any children associated to this type.
6. How to Restore an Archived Asset Type
To restore an archive asset type from the archive you will need to:
- Navigate to Home, then Assets and then Associated Lists.
- Once on the Asset Type page you will need to tick the Include archived checkbox to see all current archived asset types. All archived asset types will be show in italic font
- Hover over the archived asset that you wish to restore and there will be an icon that appears as per the image below:
- Clicking this icon will bring up the reinstate asset type modal as per the image below:
- Click OK and the asset type will be restored from the archive, as requested.
