User Administrator permissions are required.
In order to access Q-Pulse Cloud, each user must have their own record. These records contain the individual's main details, along with any group memberships or permissions they may have on the system.
In the Admin module of the system, all users can be managed - such as viewing the user or editing permissions for a user. For the creation of a user this will be done in the Ideagen Home tenant. This article will discuss the creating and managing of users.

1. How to View the Users List
To view the Users List:
- Navigate to Home then, System and then Users.
- You will then be presented with a screen as per the image below:
- Select any user to view their details.
2. How to View a User's Details
To view a user's details screen you can either:
- Select the user from the list screen
- Select View option from the Options dropdown.
- You will then be presented with a screen as per the image below:
- The details screen will list the key details, permissions and groupings for the user.
- In addition to this, there is also an Activity Feed where you are able to view the list of any changes made to the user record.
3. How to Create a User
To create a new user record this will need to be done in Ideagen Home:
- Navigate to Home and then Users.
- Click the Add User
- You will then be able to add all relevant details for the user. For any groupings or permissions this can be done from the Edit User page.
- Once you have entered the details for the user you can then Add the user to the system.
An email address is required if the user needs to receive email notifications from the system.
4. Email Address Restrictions
When creating a user, it is necessary to note that there are some restrictions in place to prevent issues with user accounts.
The following table details which characters are not permitted to be used when creating or editing a local user.

5. How to Edit a User
To edit an existing user record:
- Navigate to Home then, System and then Users.
- Either:

- Select a user record from the User List to edit the record details.
- Click Edit from the Options button in the relevant row from the User List.

- You will then be presented with a screen as per the image below:
From this page you are able:
To Add a Line Manager:
- Click the Select button
- The Select user box will appear and allow you to select the required user
- Once found, check the box on the far left of the list
- Click Confirm to associate the selected user as the Line Manager
To Add a Group or Multiple Groups to a User:
- Click the Select button
- The Select group box will appear and allow you to select the required group(s)
- Once found, check the box(es) on the far left of the list
- Click Confirm to associate the selected group(s) to the user
To Edit Permissions:
- Under the User Permissions you will have several modules where you can alter the permission
- Go through each module and select which level of permission the user requires for each module:
- Once all permissions have been set you can click Save to confirm the changes.
The permissions for the modules are as below:
Permission Level | Description |
None | User will have no access to the module |
User | Read only access to the module |
Manager | Can manage specified data within the module |
Administrator | Full unrestricted access to the module |
It is important to note that any changes to a user permissions on the system may have an effect with records that the user may own on the system.
6. How to Delete a Local User
- After navigating to the Manage Users area within Ideagen Home, simply click on the user that requires deleting from the displayed list.
- A window will display showing the current details of the user. To delete this user, click the Trash icon as highlighted in the screenshot below.
